Her training in art was with the City and Guilds Schools and the Slade School. After some years exhibiting in London and elsewhere, her interest in printmaking peaked and she studied under Dorothea White of Studio Prints. Her works have toured with the Arts Council, and she has exhibited at the RA and in mixed shows widely.Her working studio has been in St Ives since 1985, though she makes her home in nearby Zennor. In 1990 with a group of artists who also worked in the medium of printmaking, she was part of the Porthmeor Printmakers, along with Roy RAY , John EMANUEL and Stephen DOVE . Their combined portfolios of work gave much needed support financially to the Penwith Galleries, and the education facilities of the Tate St Ives. Sheila was for a number of years the tutor in printmaking at the Penzance School of Art, and exhibits her work in local mixed shows on a regular basis, including the Rainyday Gallery in Penzance.
